Exam
Blues and Nerves
Empty thoughts in the classroom
Many people become nervous, tense and anxious long
before the day they sit down to take their exams. Sometimes
weeks or months in advance, just at the anticipation
of the day, they find it hard to concentrate on their
study.
Thoughts of "What if", "Will I be able
to remember", "What might I be asked",
"Have I learnt enough" compound day after
day causing unknown stresses and strains on the person.
Even though they excel at their course work the doubt
continues. The anxiety, doubt and fears increase as
the importance of doing well in the test or exam can
be life changing. Well intended comments from family
and friends can sometimes place even more unintentional
pressure on the student.
Many of the feelings experienced by students with a
fear of tests or exams are to do with their lack of
confidence whilst in the test situation and little to
do with their ability to learn and retain knowledge.
If the Student does fail, this can compound the pressure
and worry for the re-sit.
Fortunately, Hypnotherapy and
NLP are tools that can help you achieve your goals,
change your study habits, increase your focus,
overcome study nerves and increase confidence. All that
you have learnt can then flow freely on the exam day
because you are more relaxed.
